Abstract
The effect of pore former in porous anode substrate on fuel cell characteristics was investigated for microtubular SOFCs. The pore size and distribution were different in Ni-YSZ anodes when either the acrylic resin or carbon powder was used as pore former. The performance for the cell using carbon is better at high fuel utilization conditions, because fuel is easy to diffuse near the interface between Ni catalyst and YSZ electrolyte
