Abstract
This work presents a novel and simple method to synthesize boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs). BN/Fe nanocomposites were synthesized by discharging BN-coated Fe wires in ambient nitrogen. The as-synthesized nanocomposites were annealed at high temperatures to develop BNNTs. The microstructure and composition of BNNTs catalyzed by Fe nanoparticles were characterized by SEM, HRTEM, EDS, and EELS.
