Abstract
SiC is expected as a candidate of structural material for nuclear system in next generation. Neutron irradiation iinduces the crystallization of amorphous phase in SiC fibers resulting in the volume shrinkage of fibers, utilization of highly crystallized SiC fibers are essential for nuclear system. Nano-powder Infiltration and Transition Eutectoid (NITE) method is able to produce dense SiC/SiC composites. The NITE method fabricates SiC/SiC composites over the crystallization temperature of SiC fibers, present work tries to produce a NITE SiC/SiC composite with In-situ Crystallization of amorphous SiC fibers (IC-NITE SiC/SiC composite). Microstructural investigation and ion irradiation experiment were performed and researched the stability of microstructure in IC NITE SiC/SiC composites
