Abstract
Faculty of Engineering, Niigata University has been executing an introductory education program "Breaking Away from Shallow Learning Habits" for first-year students to educate their ability to solve problems in engineering fields. The students in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering study it through experiments in a class "Introduction to Engineering Literacy" as a required subject. After having done the experiments on two themes for ten weeks, they make a presentation on the second theme. Educational effects were recognized for each student as both a presenter and an audience.
