Unique classes for education of basic subjects in an engineering college and the result of their evaluation

Abstract

It is important for college students to acquire the knowledge on the basic subjects. In addition to chemistry, physics, physical chemistry and chemical engineering, communication skill is thought to be important even for students in the field of applied chemistry. The communication skill includes explaining orally what he/she is thinking, listening to the other students idea, combining these ideas of several students into one idea, exercising the idea in an experiment, and so on. In our department, we have classes in which communication skill is exercised after exchanging ideas. In this talk, this kind of classes is explained.
