Abstract
Using the rolling-extended method, one directional grain-oriented piezoelectric ceramics with tungsten bronze structure were fabricated. The clay-like green body, composed of the calcined (Pb0.7Ba0.3)La0.08/3Nb2O6 matrix and its needle-shaped templates was extended into the spindly shape by rolling. The spindly extended green body was cut into the short-length pieces, and they were piled up and formed in the shape of a thick cylinder. The process that the thick-cylinder-shaped green body was extended into the spindly shape by rolling was repeated several times so that the needle-shaped templates were effectively aligned in the length direction of the green body. The maximum orientation degree of about 80% was observed in the sintered samples when the extended process was repeated four times.
