Synthesis and characterization of plate-like CeO₂ particles by solution method

Abstract

Micro size plate-like CeO₂ particles were successfully prepared by a low temperature solution method followed by calcination in air at 400^oC. CeO₂ particles showed plate-like morphology like cerium carbonate hydrate precursor. Synthesized plate-like CeO₂ particles were characterized by SEM, XRD, and photochemical characterized by UV-visible spectrometer. The oxidation catalytic activity was tested by a Rancimat system.
