Abstract
Alumina is an excellent material due to high hardness, strength, chemical stability, electrical insulation and thermal conductivity. The oriented alumina in microstructure leads to high mechanical properties, but some specific treatments were required to from the microstructure. In this study, as a starting material for fabrication of high-oriented alumina, alumina platelets were used. First, high-oriented alumina green-sheet was formed using a gypsum mold . Secondly, from these green-sheets, high oriented dense bodies was fabricated by a PECS(Pulse Electric Current Sintering) equipment. Finally, physical properties of the oriented alumina, such as mechanical property and thermal conductivity were examined.
