Abstract
Hydrothermal treatment using low concentration of acid solution as solvent medium was attempted to recover the Pt catalyst loaded on the spent diesel particulate filter (DPF). The results showed that higher than 99% Pt was recovered in the form of [PtCl6]2- in the mixed HNO3 and HCl aqueous solutions with the ratio HNO3/HCl/Pt=500/100/1 (stoichiometric ratio) after 1.5 h hydrothermal treatment at 200 oC.
