Abstract
Biominerals prepared under mild conditions have high mechanical strength. Biomolecules, such as protein, lipid and polysaccharide, have been proposed to play an important role in controlling mineral crystallization and forming precise structure by self-assembly. In order to evaluate the organic-functional groups for biomineralization, calcium carbonates were synthesized by using various peptides and their morphologies and crystalline phases were evaluated.
