Abstract
(Na,K)NbO3 (NKN)-based material is one of the candidates for replacing (Pb,Zr)TiO3 (PZT). In this paper, we report the effect of dopants on the high-power piezoelectric characteristics of NKN?based ceramics. CuO-doped NKN (NKN-Cu) exhibited the highest Qm even under high-power. The measurable vibration velocity of NKN-Cu reached more than 0.5 m/sec with the heat generation of less than 15 oC. Although the heat generation was accelerated with the increase of vibration velocity, the decrease of Qm was relatively small under larger vibration amplitude. Moreover, NKN-Cu showed similar Qm values in both resonance and anti-resonance modes.
