Photoluminescence and excitation properies of Mn⁴⁺ doped MgO-TiO₂ crystals

Abstract

Mn⁴⁺ is known to exhibit red luminescence, whose wavelength can be varied with host material and crystal structure, so as to be expected to be applied to display and illumination devices. In this study, we prepared Mn⁴⁺ doped Mg₂TiO₄ and MgTiO₃ so as to investigate their photoluminescence(PL) and photoluminescence excitation(PLE) properties.
