Abstract
A series of samples in Ca-Sr-Eu-Si-S systems has been prepared by an advanced chemical method to explore for new compounds for phosphor applications. It led us to find a new phosphor with a composition, (Ca, Sr, Eu)3Si2S7. This phosphor showed a broad emission band with a maximum at 613 nm with the corresponding excitation maximum at 420 nm.
