Abstract
A simple and quick calcium phosphate coating technique on a titanium substrate was developed utilizing a liquid-phase laser process. In this process, low energy Nd-YAG laser was used to irradiate a titanium substrate immersed in a supersaturated calcium phosphate solution. Calcium phosphate precipitated on the laser-irradiated area of the substrate within only 5 min. Our calcium phosphate coating technique utilizing a liquid-phase laser process was found to be effective for not only a polymeric substrate as was reported previously but also a titanium substrate.
