The Syntheses of 2-Substituted 7-Isopropylbenzoxazoles and Related Oxacyanines

Abstract

2-Methyl-, 2-mercapto- and 2-methylmercapto-7-isopropylbenzoxazole were prepared from 2- propyl-6-aminophenol which had been obtained by catalytic reduction of 2-isopropyl-6-nitrophenol.
Three styryl-, five anilinovinyl-derivatives, a monomethine-, twelve trimethine-, four betaine type trimethine-, two pentamethine-, heptamethine-cyanines seven merocyanines and two monoionic polynuclear dyes were synthesized from the methiodide and ethiodide of 2-methyl-7-isopropylbenzoxazole by usual manner.
