On a New Disease-Germ of the Hop Plant

Abstract

1. A new strain of bacteria was isolated from the hop materials with a new bacterial disease, and after exhaustive study it is concluded to be a new germ causing a hop disease.
2. By the general characters of the present strain, it was identified as a new species of Corynebacterium. The writers propose to nominate it Corynebacterium humuli Stow et Ihara.
