A Pleiotropic Mutation in Caulobacter crescentus that Affects the Flagellar Formation and Susceptibility to Phage Infection

Abstract

Mutants of Caulobacter crescentus have been isolated that are resistant to DNA or RNA phage infection. A large proportion of these mutants simultaneously become non-motile as well as resistant to other phage infection. A pleiotropic mutation seems to affect the formation of the cellular structures for motility and DNA and RNA phage infection.
