Abstract
Ophiasila squamifera was described by Dr. S. MURAKAMI from Hoza Bay, Kii Peninsula in Japan, in 1963, but no farther record of the species since. The present author found the species in 2 other localities in Japan, namely Sagami Bay (depth of water 16 meter) and Chiziwa Bay (60 meter) in Kyushu. The former specimen had been contained in the collection of H. M. the Emperor HIROHITO and the latter collected by Mr. KIKUCHI, Tomioka Marine Biological Station, Kyushu University. It is assumed that the species distributed sporadically along the Pacific coast of Japan from Sagami Bay southward to Kyushu.
