Abstract
Careful examinations and comparisons of the structural forms and setal formulae of the zoeal maxillae I and II were made to classify 180 species belonging to 14 families of the brachyuran true crabs, excluding Dromiacea and Archaeobrachyura. The endopodial setations of the maxilla I were classified into 8 types, and in the maxilla II 14 types of the endopodial setations, 3 forms of the scaphognathites, 3 forms of the basal endites and 4 forms of the coxal endites with 5 types of the setations on the inner lobe of the coxal endite were found. Zoeae of true crabs can be classified into 13 groups and 63 subgroups by the combination of the maxillary forms and setal formulae mentioned above.
