A new septate gregarine, Cephalolobus hyomai (Gregarinasina ; Cephalolobidae) in a marine amphipod Ampithoe lacertosa BATE is described on the basis of gamont and gametocyst. This new species possesses a characteristic epimerite which has hitherto been unknown in the genus Cephalolobus.
