Abstract

Seven new trypanosomes are described from Asian cold-blooded vertebrates : 1) Trypanosoma cyrtodactyli detected in Cyrtodactylus quadrivirgatus (Reptilia ; Gekkonidae) from Peninsular Malaysia ; 2) Trypanosoma chalconotae detected in Rana chalconota (Amphibia ; Ranidae) from Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak ; 3) Trypanosoma kuhlii detected in Rana kuhlii (Amphibia ; Ranidae) from Sarawak ; 4) Trypanosoma sulawesiense detected in Rana celebensis (Amphibia ; Ranidae) from Sulawesi ; 5) Trypanosoma leptobrachii detected in Leptobrachium hendricksoni (Amphibia ; Pelobatidae) from Peninsular Malaysia ; 6) Trypanosoma melanosticti detected in Bvfo melanostictus (Amphibia ; Bufonidae) from Peninsular Malaysia ; 7) Trypanosoma amamiense detected in Cynops ensicauda (Amphibia ; Salamandridae) taken from Amami-Oshima, Japan.
