Abstract

Lifestyle medicine coaching has emerged as a valuable and supportive intervention for individuals facing the challenges of cancer. This approach recognizes the intricate interplay between lifestyle choices and cancer outcomes, emphasizing the importance of holistic care. By offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and overall well-being, lifestyle medicine coaching equips cancer patients with the tools to actively participate in their healing journey.

We present a case report on lifestyle medicine coaching of a 42-year-old woman with stage IV renal carcinoma with lung metastasis. Over the course of 8 sessions, lifestyle interventions in nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management were discussed. Outcomes were followed over a 14-month period.

Through personalized strategies and ongoing support, lifestyle medicine coaching empowers patients to make informed decisions that can enhance their quality of life, alleviate treatment-related side effects, and foster a sense of control amidst uncertainty. Furthermore, it fosters a positive mindset and encourages resilience, factors that have shown promise in improving treatment adherence and long-term prognosis.
