Abstract
The cross section of the nuclear disintegration by neutron impact with proton emisslon was calculated on the assumption that the emitted proton can be identified with the impinging neutron and was found to have the order of magnitude φdis≈10-24/√E10-0.4L Z/√E-D+ 0.65Z3/2 in ordirary case, where Z is the atomic number of the initial nuelcue and E and D are the energy of the neutron and the clangs of total proper'- mass by disintegration, both in the unit of 106eV. The expresseions of the cross sections of the elastic stuttering and the capture of the neutron are altered by taking the possiblity of the above process into account and take rather compli- cated forms. the ratio of which can be either larger or smaller than 1 and can fluctuate as Z changes. Nevertheless, the anomalus absorption of the slow neu- tron without comparable scattering can hardly be expected from our result
