On the Thermal Expansion of Simple Liquids

Abstract

Using the model which the pr, sent writer has proposed in explaining the phenomenon of fusion, coefficient of thermal expansion is obtained. We have obtained βT_m=0.115, where β is the coefficient of cubical expansion and T_m is the melting temperature. Observed values of βT_m for many simple liquids are of the order of 0.1
