Abstract
The study examined the present situation of the civil engineering industry from the viewpoint of a copywriter. Previous studies have revealed that civil engineering industries historically or ethologically have a negative image. There was also a view that the word ‘DOBOKU’ is one of its causes, therefore this study reviewed past studies focusing on the word ‘DOBOKU’. On the other hand, the viewpoint of a copywriter is organized into three ideas based on their work and thinking method. The core idea is not just about “what to make” and “how to make” it, it is a question of “why to make”. It is not an idea based on past values, but based on a back-casting viewpoint that values and needs of the future generations depend on those living in the present. In this paper, it is called “the gaze from the future”. In addition, by expressing the implicit thought process of a copywriter who lives as an artist to achieve compassion building, this journal presented a circulation model and a reciprocal model of the thought process which are believed to function effectively for compassion building. Although it is only knowledge from a copywriter not specialized in the civil engineering field, this is aimed at promoting shared intelligence with experts in the civil engineering field and to help build compassion for the field.
