PREPARATION AND THERMAL PROPERTY OF BARIUM TITANIUM PHOSPHATES

Abstract

BaTi(PO₄)₂ and BaTi₄(PO₄)₆ were made by heating a mixture of ammonium dihydrogen orthophosphate, titanium oxide, and barium carbonate at 1000~1400°C for 2~10h. These compounds were powdery materials with very small average particle sizes of 0.4~0.6μm and thermally stable. The thermal expansion of BaTi(PO₄)₂ and BaTi₄(PO₄)₆ were -0.63~0.02 and 0~-0.84% up to 900°C, respectively.
