A Study on Application of Environmental Psychology Method to Decide Coastal Preservation Facilities

Abstract

Scenic beauty judgments depend on human perceptual responses, in environmental psychology the relationship between human perception and physical environment was investigated. This study deals with the methodology to decide landscape planning by environmental psychology. This method named Caption Evaluation Method was applied to evaluating of coastal landscape with various coastal preservation facilities as a case study. It was shown that this method is useful to understand how a citizen evaluates a coastal landscape and to grasp a diversity of people's image. And KJ-method analysis of result made the problems clear for landscape planning.
