Experimental Study on the Revetment with Roughness of square timber

Abstract

The purpose of this experimental study is to measure the fluid force acting on the square timber laid on a revetment. By the orifice installed through the square timber, the heads of fluid, surface pressure, are measured to calculate the drag force and shearing stress. It's ascertained the drag coefficient C_D is almost constant on it throughout entire span. So, it's possible to estimate the drag force and flow resistance by determining the drag coefficient.
