Abstract
Flow field measurements of gradually expanded rectangular open channel flows are measured by a Hot-film anemometer. Mean velocity profiles along spanwise direction can be expressed by Goertler's equation for 2-D jets. Mean velocity profiles along vertical direction can be expressed by the log-wake law. The wake strength parameter II increases in flow direction. Maximum turbulence intensity regions are near half-depth and quarterwidth. The trend of form factors against total divergence is similar to Gibson's results of 2-D diffusers.
