A PROPOSAL OF A NEW SUPER-RESOLUTION PIV BY USING THE KC METHOD

Abstract

A new super-resolution PIV is proposed. The proposed super-resolution method consists of the standard correlation PIV, the Particle Mask Correlation method (PMC method), and Kalman filter/_χ²-test method (KC method). The present super-resolution PIV is referred as to the “super-resolution KC method”.
Performance of the super resolution KC method is examined by the Monte-Calro simulation. The super-resolution KC method is also applied to the measurement of the two kinds of flow fields, of which images are captured by the Double-Pulse/Single-Image method and Single-Pulse/Double-Image method, respectively.
