Abstract
The wave power generating system originally developed by Tohoku Electric Power Co. Inc. was installed in the concrete caisson composite breakwater at Haramachi Thermal Power Station port, which is under construction. The designed output of the system is 130KW, the largest in the world, and the performance tests have been conducted since September, 1996. The system hes water valve energy rectifiers and air chambers constructed in two caissons. In this paper, we discuss the technical characteristics of design and construction of the caisson for the wave power generating system.
