Abstract

A precision triaxial compression apparatus using small size specimens was newly developed, and the strength properties of undisturbed Mito clay and its remolded clay are examined through CK0CU and CK0EU tests using this apparatus. The precision triaxial compression apparatus was able to evaluate the coefficient of earth pressure at rest (K0) and the strength properties of triaxial compression and extension. The effect of sample disturbance on K0, effective stress path and rate of strength increase were small in the normal consolidation region.
