Abstract
On the conditions of non wave-breaking on the artificial reef, wave energy is damped bysurface friction andpermeable resistance.
This paper deals with the experiment of transmission coefficient for the artificial reefwhich ratio of breakwaterswidth to wave length, B/L is changed in the range of ratio of submerged depth of crown toincident wave height, R/HI; 1.61≤R/HI≤8.75. Results are as follows.
Transmission coefficient, KT decreases by the increase in ratio of breakwaters width to wavelength, B/L and whichbecomes a small change at B/L>1.6. And KT increases by the increase in R/HI at a fixed rate at B/L.
About the relationship between KT and ratio of incident wave height to block scale, HI/d′, Reynols number, Re, KTdecreases slightly by the increase in HI/d′, moreover KT increases slightly with the increasein Re.Then, KT becomes aslight change at Re >(2-3)×104.
