Scenario of the promotion measures of marine industry and fishing villages varies by the choice made about the merger. The enhancement of existing industry and regional repercussion through creation of new industry also depends on the choice.
This research focuses on the Lake Saroma area in Hokkaido, on the Coast of Okhotsk Sea, where consultations on municipality merger are ongoing. Several scenarios for each possible choice of merger are developed, on creation of business collaboration and new industry through the merger. Then, regional repercussion extent for each scenario is calculated in accordancew ith the interregionali nput-outputt able, which indicates the regional industrial structure and the economic ripple structure. Furthermore, this shows the result of study for making choice of the most effective measure and the desirable merger.
