Abstract
A new method for sediment dumping was developed to mix two types of soils and to accumulate them uniformly on the sea bottom. Its function is derived from unique flow pattern and water oscillation in the vertical tube. Two important indicators to evaluate the occurrence of both unique flow and mixing are proposed, “Oscillation potential, P1 and Binding potential, P2”. Three series of hydraulic experiments were executed, and assumptions for theory and validity of two indicators are confirmed. Finally, large-scale experiment provided the appropriate results on accumulation.
