Abstract
Elphidium is one of the genera of Foraminifera commonly found in Japan, both in the recent fauna and in some of the late Tertiary and Quarternary formations. There are known about 10 species of the genus in Japan, including one species, E. ezoense sp., which seems to be extinct.
This short note deals with the species obtained from the Pliocene of HokkaidO and Karahuto.
