Micro Long Drilling of the Nozzle for Diesel Engine (2nd Report)

Abstract

Exhaust emission control is progressing to the diesel engine for vessels. It is necessary to realize micro long drilling which are tried for a diameter of 0.2mm and a depth of 4mm (aspect ratio 20) to a fuel injection nozzle. However, it is made of difficult–to–cut material like a inconel. The study examined effect of thinning for micro long drill by evaluating thrust force.
