Abstract
Many kinds of grinding fluids have been used to reduce the wear of grinding wheel while grinding metallic materials. Recently however, the consumption of grinding fluids has a tendency to decrease for eliminating a bad influence upon human body and environment. Therefore, grinding wheels that showed effects of self lubrication and cooling were developed for dry grinding. The new type of wheels were made by impregnating in polyethylene glycolic (PEG). The characteristics of grinding with these wheels were examined to measure the grinding force and temperature.
