Abstract
A slotted type diamond cutter is widely used as a cutting tool due to its high machinability. Generally, it has many slots and their functions have the effect of reducing cutting resistance and increasing the tool life. Under this background, the application of photopolymerizable resins to the slot structured type blade has been examined modifying from single layered to multilayered shape. In this paper, a complex structured blade has been proposed and experiments were performed to investigate cutting characteristics during dicing of a silicon wafer. As the results of a series of cutting tests, using the complex structured blade, the improvement of machinability was verified.
