Abstract

The purpose of this study is to fabricate a micro-fluidic chip made of fluorocarbon resins. In order to seal micro-channels for sending fluidic sample without spill, it is necessary to closely attach a thin film of fluorocarbon resin to a microfabricated fluorocarbon resin substrate. Therefore, the thermocompression experiments to attach two thin films of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) were conducted first in this study. Furthermore the peeling test was also performed to measure attachement strength. As a result, the maximum attachment strength was about 7 N/cm. And it was also found that the attacment strength depended strongly on the heating temperature.
