Abstract

An application to visualize 3D time series data is developed using methods analogous to CT scan. 3D space is sliced with parallel planes to create group of 2D sliced time series data where change of time is expressed by color differentiation. Image processing method is used to analyze the data and each layer is re-stacked to restore the 3D data. GPU is used to process 2D images by parallel processing, taking advantage of its large and fast memory capacity. This approach is applied to simulate CNC milling.
