Abstract
As for products by the metal mold, a surface characteristic of the metal mold is copied to the product. In recent resin mold, metal mold is replaced to the ceramics mold. In this study, polishing of Al2O3 ceramics mold for resin molding by ultrasonic machining is examined. A horn and a cone that transmitted the ultrasonic vibration are manufactured on the basis of finite element analysis results. Al2O3 mold is polished by a constructed device. The surface roughness of Al2O3 mold is measured, and the surface condition is observed by using Scanning Electron Microscope. It is found that the surface of Al2O3 mold is improved by polishing.
