Development of a Micro Hole Measuring System using an Optical Fiber Probe

Abstract

In recent years, there are increasing demands to measure accuracies of the micro holes of fuel injector nozzles, chemical fiber nozzles, optical fiber ferrule of optical communication equipment and medical instrument, etc. This paper presents the development of a micro hole measuring system using an optical fiber probe. In this research, we examine the optimization of design parameter of optical system using ray tracing. The result indicates the possibility to detect the fiber displacement.
