Abstract
The motion characteristics of the CNC rotary table have not been clarified until now. In this study, the motion characteristics of two kinds of CNC rotary table were measured: the rotary table driven by the worm gear and the table driven by the roller gear cam. In the measurement, the positioning accuracy, the rotational fluctuation, and the frequency response of the mechanism were measured. The torsion stiffness of the mechanisms were identified from the measured frequency responses, and the identified stiffness were compared.
