Measurement of rotational accuracy of a micro-spindle supported by a V-shaped sliding bearing

Abstract

We have been trying a new spindle system using V-shaped sliding bearing for micro-machine tools. The rotational accuracy of a body rotates on V-shaped sliding bearing is expected to be largely different from ball bearing spindles. However, the measuring results of the bearing has not been reported yet. In this study, the rotational accuracy of the spindle supported by the V-shaped sliding bearing is measured by our optical rotational accuracy measurement device for micro-spindles.
