Abstract
On-machine measuring system of accuracies of a deep-hole is developed using a lathe. The system consists of a laser interferometer set behind a head stock and the measuring head with a pentaprism and a corner prism. The corner prism is fixed to a stylus. The stylus scans a hole wall of a workpiece set on a carriage toward tangential direction. The movement of the stylus perpendicular to the hole wall is detected by the interferometer. A laser beam from the interferometer goes through a hole of the main spindle and is deflected by a pentaprism to the corner prism. In this research, factors, which cause measurement errors, are disclosed and a measure to counter the errors is discussed.
