Abstract
In a micro end mill machining, the tool deflection by cutting force deteriorates the machined shape accuracy, because the rigidity of tool with a small diameter is very low. In this study, the milling tests of alloy tool steel for a die mold with square end mills of diameter of 1 mm or less have been carried out and the machined shape error was evaluated. The relationship between the cutting conditions and the cutting force is examined and then the influence of the cutting force on the machined shape error is investigated.
