Abstract
Typically, continuous driving voltage is required to maintain the piezoelectricdisplacement. However, the shape memory piezoelectric actuator can keep itspiezoelectric displacement without any operating voltages. In this study, a piezoelectricactuator was operated as a shape memory piezoelectric actuator by asymmetric pulsedvoltage operation. When certain range of asymmetric voltage was applied to thepiezoelectric actuator to switch its polarization, an asymmetric butterfly hysteresis wasobserved. With this result, the piezoelectric strain had two stable values at the point of0 voltages. Then, the actuator realized shape memory by asymmetric pulsed voltageoperation.
