Abstract
In order to suppress self-excited chatter in grinding process, a cylindrical grinding system with sensor feed-back has been developed. The system controls the rotational speed of work-piece while detecting the displacement of the work-piece. This can keep the phase difference between inner-modulation and outer-modulation stable. The experimental results shows the system is feasible and triangle-speed control is effective not in cutting but also in grinding.
