Abstract
We have tried to apply the deoxidization/oxidization reaction using electron and hole provided by irradiating ultraviolet ray on photocatalyst and fluorescent for machining the materials. When the cup-type nickel tube was polished using these phenomena, the following results were obtained; the more rich of photocatalyst promoted mechanical polishing, the more rich of fluorescent substance promoted chemical polishing, the harder pad easily polished the workpiece, no ultraviolet-ray irradiation did not promote the reaction, and the pH-value of slurry decreased through polishing time.
